A collection of 14 sweepers created for DJ Skee’s Sirius Satellite Radio show, this internal disc captures the raw building blocks of how a DJ shaped their sonic identity on air. Sweepers—those quick interjections like “You’re listening to…” or beat-backed tags—were more than filler. They were part of the rhythm, the brand, the voice.
Skee, still in his 20s, had already carved out his own lane with his syndicated show on Sirius—one of the few national platforms for hip-hop that wasn’t bound by FM radio’s rules. These sweepers would have lived between tracks, under drops, and across transitions, woven into the DNA of every broadcast. It’s a behind-the-curtain artifact from a time when radio was still a proving ground, and every second on air was curated.
