Description

1989 Major League Baseball All-Star Game ring presented to Tony Gwynn for his selection to the Midsummer Classic held at Anaheim Stadium on July 11, 1989. Featuring a large central faux diamond over a rich blue stone and bold MAJOR LEAGUE ALL-STAR text encircling the bezel, the ring celebrates Gwynn’s appearance as the starting right fielder for the National League squad. One shank is detailed with event-specific engravings: ANAHEIM STADIUM, 1989 ALL-STAR GAME, CALIFORNIA ANGELS, and the game date, JULY 11, 1989. The opposite side displays the official NATIONAL LEAGUE crest. Inside the band is engraved #19 T. GWYNN, signifying the personal presentation of the ring to the Hall of Famer himself.

Gwynn went 1-for-3 in the game, continuing his tradition of excellence on the sport’s biggest stages. This ring is a symbol of his consistency, popularity, and the high regard in which he was held by fans, peers, and coaches alike.
