Description

Double-sided promotional flat for Tha Doggfather, the second studio album by Snoop Doggy Dogg, released in 1996 on Death Row Records. Sized at 12" x 12", the front features the album’s iconic close-up portrait of Snoop, while the reverse showcases Death Row’s logo and branding with matching typography. These flats were typically distributed to record stores, street teams, and industry contacts ahead of official album drops.

Tha Doggfather followed the era-defining Doggystyle and marked a turning point for both Snoop and Death Row. Released in the wake of Dr. Dre’s departure from the label and the death of Tupac Shakur, the album reflected a shift in tone—retaining G-funk sensibilities while signaling Snoop’s move toward more autonomy in his career. Suge Knight is listed as executive producer, with the cover photo becoming one of the most recognizable images in 1990s West Coast rap.

The piece was never commercially sold and represents authentic label-issued marketing material tied directly to one of the most pivotal moments in Snoop’s catalog. The square format mirrors a vinyl sleeve but was produced specifically for flat display or in-store placement.
