Known for obsessively studying his swing and opposing pitchers, Gwynn earned the nickname “Captain Video” for the time and investment he poured into film study—spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to build a personal video archive. The 1998 season was a standout year, with Gwynn helping lead the Padres to the World Series. This tape offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the meticulous habits that fueled one of baseball’s greatest hitters.
