Description

Framed limited-edition portrait of Chipper Jones, numbered 9 of 1000, collected by Tony Gwynn. Jones, a fellow Hall of Famer, built his reputation as one of the game’s premier hitters, combining power with a refined ability to hit for average. His .364 batting mark in 2008 secured the National League batting title, making him one of the few modern hitters to approach the kind of consistency Gwynn embodied.

Over his 19-year career with the Atlanta Braves, Jones was an eight-time All-Star, the 1999 National League MVP, and a cornerstone of the 1995 World Series championship team. Though his career overlapped with Gwynn’s only briefly, their mutual emphasis on plate discipline and offensive reliability placed them in the same lineage of great contact hitters. This portrait reflects the shared respect between two icons who defined excellence at the plate in their respective eras.
