The name "I Can Do All Things" comes from Curry's longtime personal motto, inspired by Philippians 4:13. Curry has referenced the phrase throughout his career as a source of strength and perseverance, even writing it on his basketball shoes before becoming an NBA superstar. The message has remained a recognizable element of his signature footwear, including the abbreviation "ICDATSC30," which combines the motto with his initials and jersey number.
The Curry 8 debuted in December 2020 as the first signature basketball sneaker released under the newly established Curry Brand.
